Triority Circus

Contemporary partneracrobatic trio

Triority Circus is a contemporary circus ensemble from Berlin, consisting of Çiğdem Gerwert, Paula Dieken, and Fryderyk Biehler. In their trio acrobatics, they explore new forms of physical storytelling and shift the classical structures of partner acrobatics. With their division of roles—woman as base, man as middle, woman as flyer—they present a rare constellation that has developed organically from their bodies and strengths.

In their style, they combine dance qualities with technical precision and emotional depth in an organic flow of movement. Transitions between figures, states, and roles are fluid, with deliberate interruptions setting dramatic accents.

They met at the children’s and youth circus. After many joint projects, they founded the trio in 2022 and graduated together from the “Flic Scuola di Circo” in Italy in 2024. Their long-standing collaboration is based on deep trust and a keen sense of each other.

Fryderyk Biehler

Fryderyk Biehler is a hand-to-hand artist from Berlin, whose other disciplines include physical theater, dance, and handstands. From 2020 to 2022, he attended “Die Etage” in Berlin, where he worked with various partners. Before making circus his profession, he completed training as a warehouse specialist.

Çiğdem Gerwert

Çiğdem Gerwert is a hand-to-hand artist from Berlin. She has been training at Circus Schatzinsel since she was 10 years old and gained further stage experience in the young ensemble of Circus Schatzinsel and at Theater Plexus. Before co-founding Triority Circus, she worked as a trained social worker.

Paula Dieken

Paula Dieken is a hand-to-hand base from Berlin and has been active in youth circus since she was 8 years old. For many years, she participated in various productions of the Schatzinsel children’s and youth circus and discovered her passion for the circus at an early age. She also took a detour via university and has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.

SHROUDED - Short

    • 30 minutes
    • Indoor and Outdoor
    • 8+ years
    • no spoken language

Shrouded is a physical and poetic exploration of depression – raw, sensitive and intense. Triority Circus uses the language of trio acrobatics to reveal an inner state that often remains hidden.

In choreographically condensed scenes, the bodies tell of oppressive states of inner turmoil, moments of harmony and lightness, deep exhaustion and cautious regeneration. In moments of circling, falling, flowing, carrying and being carried, or merging with a group that becomes a threatening entity, emotions are translated into movement and condensed into powerful physical images.

With great precision, emotional openness and impressive physicality, Shrouded creates forms of expression that touch the soul. An invitation to open oneself to the silence, the force and the complexity of human emotions.

      SHROUDED

      • ca. 60 min
      • Indoor
      • planned premiere 11/2026

Shrouded develops the existing 30-minute version into a full-length circus production that makes depression physically and atmospherically tangible. Building on the existing material, new scenes are created in which additional facets of this inner state become visible – quiet, fragmentary and multi-layered.

In an extended choreographic process, the trio explores further qualities of movement and dynamics that intensify the emotional experience: moments of perseverance and surrender, of searching and losing, of closeness and drifting apart. Trio acrobatics, flowing transitions, elements from dance and theatre form images that make inner processes physically tangible and open up space for personal associations.

The project is accompanied by choreographer Francesco Sgró, who advises Triority Circus on dramaturgy and choreography.

      LEF! by WIRWAR Producties

Triority Circus has been touring since summer 2025 with the show “LEF!” by WIRWAR Producties. In this spectacular family performance, three acrobats balance on the fine line between danger and reason.

How wonderful it would be if we were no longer afraid and could simply do whatever we wanted! But who or what is stopping us?
“Fear is a bad advisor,” they say, but is that really true? Fear can also protect us from danger and enable us to make well-considered decisions and correct assessments. But what if fear gains the upper hand?

A circus theater performance for adventurers, scaredy-cats, daredevils, and couch potatoes.

      Cigarett Duet

‘Artists don’t smoke? Far from it.’

Whether you like smoking or detest it, hardly anyone can deny that smoking has a certain aesthetic appeal. Fred and Cigdem from Triority Circus play with precisely this aesthetic in their ten-minute street show. They combine the sensual, sometimes provocative gesture of smoking with the dynamic and elegance of partner acrobatics – an unusual combination that surprises, irritates and fascinates.
